Designers point of view...

I am brave and I started to call myself as designer.

I know designers, as all the creative people, have their own ways to create the pattern and design...talking now about crochet designs. Some do pattern on paper first with all the details, some do something else. Like me, I always saw the pictures inside my head, keep going with them a while, then I make very fast sketch on paper and start working. While doing making chances and other notes on paper. When ready, I do it again and then I calculate the stiches and make the marks and take the pictures...and that is only the beginning. But the main work is to have the ideas and images inside my head.

Living in Brazil and South America is a huge blessing to me, it liberate me to be more colorful and free. All the shapes, colors and tastes and smells are strong, all over You. And I love them. No wonder my works and designs has begun to be strong with colors and shapes too.

and this other one started to come at the same time with flower and...

again very different shapes. As I worked with it all my plans changed too and the finally when it was ready it look totally different but still the same, as the image in my mind. And it really is the Flower Wheel.

I love the process of creations, You never know how they start and what is the result. The next mandala is coming soon. And these two will be released with the pattern as soon I have them tested and made the good files. So be patient :)

Seriously....

I have been making crochet since I was 17. My mother always did everything, crochet, knitting, sewing, woven rugs and tapestry etc. I was miserable in craft classes on school, really bad, never getting anything done and sometimes my mom made them for me. When I was 17 I started to learn crochet from books I got from library. And I started to knit lace too. That was my starting point and since then I have loved crochets. And all that happened 36 years ago, wow. :D

There are several patterns I have made or mix together with other patters during these 36 years. Couple of years ago I found overlay crochets and CALs like Sophie´s Garden and Universe and I really got inspired from them. I started to look for more patterns, but I didn´t find what I wanted. So it was really easy me to start create my own patterns. And here we are now. I have several patterns done and I gave myself a new name: Jaya.

In a way, this name has been with me since I moved to Brazil 2011 and meet my love Ulysses. There is always some difficulties fro Brazilians to pronounce my name Jaana. My mother in law calls me usually "Yaya" and so do the others too, so Jaya is between those names. Actually it means in Sanskrit "victorious" and that is good cose I have been born in Finland at the day of Victoria and Victory.

I am very happy to announce that Jaya Creations is my new name <3

Olen virkannut 17 -vuotiaasta lähtien. Äitini teki aina kaikkea, virkkausta, neulomista, ompelutöitä, maton kutomista ja seinävaatteita. Minä olin ihan onneton koulun käsityötunneilla enkä koskaan saanut mitään valmiiksi ja äiti usein auttoi niissä. Kun olin 17 aloin itse opettelemaan virkkausta kirjoista joita lainasin kirjastosta. Samoin myös pitsin neulomista. Siitä asti olen rakastanut virkkaamista. Ja siitä on aikaa jo 36 vuotta. Vau.

Vuosien aikana olen monesti tehnyt omia malleja tai sitten yhdistellyt muiden malleja uudella tavalla.
Pari vuotta sitten kiinnostui uudesta tyylistä ja overlay-tekniikasta, CAL:sta ja varsinkin Sophie´s Gardenin ja Universumin myötä innostui uudelleen. Aloin etsimään lisää malleja, mutta en löytänyt mitä olisin halunnut tehdä, joten oli aika helppoa alkaa itse suunnittelemaan omia malleja. Ja tässä sitä sitten ollaan. Useampi malli on nyt suunniteltu ja sen myötä olen antanut myös itselleni uuden nimen: Jaya.

Eräällä tavalla tämä nimi on ollut minun jo siitä saakka kun vuonna 2011 muutin Brasiliaan ja tapasin mieheni Ulysseksen. Nimeni Jaana,  on todella vaikea brasilialaisten ääntää. Anoppini ja monet muut ääntävät sen helposti Yaya, niinpä nimi Jaya on vähän niin kuin noiden kahden nimen välissä. Itseasiassa Jaya on sanskriittia ja merkitsee "voittoisaa" ja se on hyvä sillä minä sattumoisin olen syntynyt Suomessa Vihtorin päivänä.

Olen todella iloinen esitellessäni uuden nimeni: Jaya Creations.

Love colors, love being in love and most of all, well, some know what I mean, I love, love crochet. Waiting for next CAL to be released, new ones to start and looking for something new ones from Pinterest and Google. LOL...it seems to be that I just can´t get enough for that. My albums are full of patterns and ideas and color pallets.

I have 10 different crochet project going on at the same time too.  And that is no enough.

Now I have started to do my own patterns and that is something very different. And that is very other story too...and this blog is about that.

And cose my mother language is not English, I also write in Finnish too.

Rakastan värejä, rakastan rakastuneena olemista ja ennen kaikkea, no, eräät ymmärtää mitä tarkoitan, rakastan, rakastan virkkaamista. Seuraavaan CALin odottamista ja uuden alkamista ja uusien etsimistä Pinterestistä ja Googlesta. HEH...näyttää siltä etten saa tarpeekseni tästä. Kuva-albumit ovat täynnä virkkausohjeita ja ideoita ja väripaletteja.

Minulla on 10 eri työtä vaiheessa ja menossa samaan aikaan. Ja siinäkään ei ole tarpeeksi.

Aloitin omien mallien suunnitelun ja tekemisen ja se on jotain todella erilaista. Ja se on toisenlainen tarina myös....ja tämän blogin syy.
